Bendigo Photography Walk
About the Bendigo photography walk
Explore Bendigo’s finest architecture on a relaxed 3–4 hour CBD walk that highlights grand Victorian façades, ornate public buildings and hidden laneway details while keeping walking to a minimum. The route is designed to showcase landmarks such as the historic former post office, the Trades Hall, the Union Bank and elegant heritage shopfronts, with frequent stops for photos, short interpretive pauses and the option to rest at cafés and seating areas. Easy-to-navigate streets, minimal inclines and close-proximity sights mean you’ll absorb the city’s rich gold-rush legacy and architectural variety without long walks — ideal for visitors who want a comprehensive visual experience of Bendigo’s built heritage in a single, comfortable outing.
During the walk, practical tips are offered to anyone who wants a little extra guidance — from composition and exposure to using natural light — while others are free to pursue their own style and work at their own pace. This relaxed approach ensures beginners receive the support they need without interrupting more experienced photographers, creating a balanced atmosphere where learning and personal creativity coexist. Whether you want hands-on assistance or space to explore, the walk adapts to suit each photographer’s needs.
Walks are designed to cater for groups of up to 10 or more while remaining flexible enough to accommodate a solo photographer; departures can be scheduled for the morning to catch first light, at lunchtime, or at dusk to capture the sunset and continue shooting into the night for star and long-exposure work or at times in between.

Locations visited in the walk
Please note that not all locations shown in the itinerary will be visited on every workshop or shoot. Access can be limited by venue opening hours, seasonal restrictions, weather or travel time between sites.
