The weekend of July 27 and 28 was Open House Melbourne of which I won two VIP passes along with the official guide book as the winning photographer from the 2018 Open House Bendigo (look for a square window in a round hole around half way down)
With so much to see and only the two days I used the Open House Melbourne website to add locations to my itinerary and only ones that were in the CBD and docklands as I walked everywhere covering almost 40,000 steps over the two days. I had a total of 36 locations and that was far to many, after a second pass I dropped it to 31 and even though it was still too many that was my starting list.
Meat Market - 3 Blackwood Street, North Melbourne 3051
RMIT Design Hub - RMIT University, Building 100, Corner Victoria and Swanston Streets, Carlton 3000
The Capitol - 113 Swanston Street, Melbourne 3000
I did use the VIP passes for this one and was able to join the next group going in, so only had a five minute wait.
The Melbourne Athenaeum - 188 Collins Street, Melbourne 3000
Collins Street Baptist Church - 174 Collins Street, Melbourne 3000
Scots' Church and Assembly Hall - 156 Collins Street, Melbourne 3000
Donkey Wheel House - 673 Bourke Street, Melbourne 3000
Port Of Melbourne Boat Tours - Water Plaza, Victoria Harbour Docklands 3008
Melbourne Quarter, Sky Park and Lendlease Workplace - 699 Collins Street Docklands 3008
Supreme Court of Victoria - 210 William Street, Melbourne VIC 3000
Old Treasury Building - 20 Spring Street, Melbourne 3000
Here’s a couple of photos captured in between Open House locations that I thought looked great.
